Our kids are our future
I have lived in King George for 18 years and been
active in my church and community. My husband
and I have 2 children that attend King George
Elementary and 1 that will start kindergarten in
the fall. I want to ensure the education they
receive is the best it can be and is in a
environment that promotes a love for learning.
Enforce current school policy and set specific standards by which to measure the superintendent. If the
superintendent is not meeting these standards, he should be replaced.
Ensure principals and school staff are adhering to school policy and enforcing when appropriate. School
policy regarding student conduct (bullying, cell phones, etc) is paramount to ensuring a wholesome and
distraction free learning environment.
Take a no tolerance approach to bullying and enforce standards of conduct among students. Teachers
and staff that know about bullying and do not intervene are just as responsible as the perpetrator.
Maintain high standards of academic excellence. I will fight to ensure that teachers and staff are pushing
our kids to achieve their full potential. We should never lower any standards to boost stats or to avoid
hurting kids feelings.
Ensure children are not being exposed to explicit material through curriculum and school provided
resources.
Easier access to educational intervention programs such as CAMP EXCEL to help kids are lagging behind
their peers. Many kids are still recovering from the learning losses that happened when school was closed
or virtual.
Work to provide healthier options for school meals. Seek out opportunities to support local farms and
businesses by bringing in fresh, unprocessed food that aren't laden with preservatives, dyes, and other
chemicals.
Collaborate with the rest of the School Board and the Board of Supervisors to push for salary increases
for teachers, so that we can bring our teachers' salaries up to the same level as the surrounding counties
and make King George Schools competitive for quality teachers.
I am a conservative Christian and care about making sure education is focused on the fundamentals of math, science, reading, writing. We need to teach our children about the founding of this country, it’s Constitution, and it’s system of government. We should instill patriotism in our children and pride in our
country, or they won’t care about making it great themselves.
I believe children need structure and wholesome rules and stability and the teaching environment needs to provide that.
I don’t believe we should confuse children by telling boys and girls they may have been born in the wrong body, and they are whatever gender they feel like. Parents should be involved if this is an issue for a child, and schools have no right to make those decisions for parents.
Boys should not have access to the girls’ bathrooms, and vice versa. They should use the bathroom for their gender (and gender is not fluid).
Children should not be exposed to sexually explicit material at school, either through curriculum or any other school supplied materials like the library books.
As a parent, I want our schools to be the best they can be. I’d be honored to have your support at the polls!
Send me a message or ask me a question using this form. I will do my best to get back to you soon!
